About PC Launches

Our Story

PC Launches began in a small home office in 2005, born from frustration and passion in equal measure.

Our founder, like many PC enthusiasts, spent countless hours researching components for a new build—only to find the same problems everywhere. Reviews that read like marketing brochures. “Top 10” lists that clearly hadn’t tested half the products. Technical jargon that alienated beginners. And worst of all, recommendations that seemed designed to push the most expensive options rather than the best value.

After building that PC (which turned out great, despite the mediocre advice online), the idea for PC Launches took root: What if there was a site that actually tested products thoroughly? That explained things clearly without talking down to readers? That recommended a $200 graphics card when it performed better than a $400 one?

The Early Days

The first article published on PC Launches was a simple CPU cooler comparison—nothing fancy, just honest testing with a thermal camera borrowed from a friend and benchmarks run on a personal gaming rig. That article took three days to write, but it was different. It showed actual thermal performance. It explained why certain coolers worked better in specific cases. It recommended the best option for different budgets.

Readers noticed. Comments rolled in thanking us for “finally, a real review.” Traffic grew organically as people shared articles that actually helped them. Within six months, PC Launches went from a weekend hobby to something bigger.

Growing the Team

As the site grew, so did the realization that one person couldn’t cover everything. PC hardware is vast—CPUs, GPUs, motherboards, peripherals, laptops, software. Each category deserves someone who lives and breathes that technology.

We started carefully recruiting writers who shared our philosophy: expertise matters, honesty isn’t negotiable, and readers always come first. Our first hire was a former system integrator who’d built over 500 custom PCs. The second was a hardware reviewer tired of corporate editorial constraints. Each new team member brought deep expertise and a genuine desire to help people navigate the confusing world of PC hardware.

Today, our team includes overclockers, former tech support specialists, professional content creators, and lifelong PC enthusiasts—all united by the belief that tech journalism should serve readers, not advertisers.

What Drives Us

Every day, we receive emails from readers. Some are thanking us for helping them build their first PC. Others are asking follow-up questions about a review. Many are simply sharing their excitement about a new component they bought based on our recommendation.

These messages remind us why PC Launches exists. We’re not here to chase clicks or maximize ad revenue. We’re here because we remember what it was like to be confused by conflicting information, overwhelmed by options, and uncertain about spending hard-earned money on the right components.

Every article we publish, every product we test, and every guide we write is created with one question in mind: “Would this actually help someone build a better PC?”

Our Promise

PC Launches has grown from that single home office to a dedicated team, professional testing lab, and community of thousands of readers. But our core mission hasn’t changed: provide honest, expert, and accessible information that helps you make confident decisions about PC hardware.

We’re not the biggest tech site, and we’re okay with that. We’d rather publish one thoroughly tested review than ten superficial ones. We’d rather recommend the best value than the most expensive option. And we’d rather lose a potential affiliate commission than compromise our integrity.

This is PC Launches. We’re PC enthusiasts helping PC enthusiasts, plain and simple.
